Material Damage Adjuster

Our client needs an adjuster to process total theft, total loss, glass loss, and comprehensive claims in a timely manner and in compliance with California's "Unfair Claims Settlement Practices" regulations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Confirm coverage on all incoming files
• Investigate claims promptly, making contact within 24 hours
• Maintain a diary system allowing for regular reviews and updates
• Secure recorded or written statements, police reports, motor vehicle reports and Vehicle theft Questionnaires on Total theft claims
• Report all Total Thefts to NCIB and maintain regular contact
• Determine ACVs on total loss vehicles
• Contact, negotiate and settle total losses with owner
• Issue payment to owner/lienholder
• Coordinate settlement of recovered theft (repairable) vehicles
• Process unrecovered thefts within the appropriate time frame
• Authorize, monitor, adjust, and pay rental car bills
• Open reserves on comprehensive and theft claims

• Must have 1-2 years experience in claims adjusting
• Working knowledge of computers, preferably Claim Center
• Maintain 100% closing ratio on average pending
• Strong investigative, negotiation and organization skills
• Demonstrate knowledge of "Unfair Claims Settlement Practices" regulations through testing
• Able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and excellent attendance
• Must have neat and legible handwriting
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
• Must maintain a high level of accuracy and pay close attention to detail
